Air Fryer Beignets will totally satisfy those sweet cravings! This entire dessert is made from scratch, with an easy dough that only requires pantry ingredients. You can simply make a big batch for sharing. We highly recommend doing so, because it’s hard to eat just one!
While they don’t taste exactly like traditional deep-fried beignets, they hit the spot perfectly without all the oil that goes into the fried version. Bite into one of these warm, super fluffy, and sugar-dusted beignets, and you’ll see what we’re talking about!
Air Fryer Beignets
1 cup self-rising flour
1 cup sour cream (or greek yogurt)
3 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
2 tablespoons butter (unsalted)
1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
first, In a large bowl, combine yogurt, sugar, and vanilla.
Next, stir in the flour to form a dough. Once smooth and all mixed in, put it on a floured surface, using a rolling pin shape it into a rectangle, and fold it a few times.
After, Shape again into a 1″ inch thick rectangle and cut it into 9 pieces that resemble smaller rectangles or squares. Lightly dust each piece with flour and set them aside to rest for fifteen -15- minutes.
Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F.
Lightly spray the tray/basket with canola spray.
After, Brush the tops of the dough with melted butter and put butter side down into the air fryer tray or basket. Brush the tops with butter.
Air fry for 6-7 minutes, or until the edges are starting to brown.
Flip and cook for another 6-7 minutes.
Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
