3 Best Chicken Recipes for the Air Fryer

We love the air fryer! It’s rapid, it never makes a big greasy mess — and it’s a better way to fry because it uses only a fraction of the fat of regular fryers, yet still cooks food to a crispy, crunchy finish. And here’s something else we love? Delicious chicken dinners! So why not combine the two?

1-Air Fried Maple Chicken Thighs

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 4 skin-on, bone-in chicken thighs

Dry Mix:

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup tapioca flour
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon granulated onion
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon honey powder

Directions

—Step 1

first of all Combine buttermilk, maple syrup, egg, and 1 teaspoon granulated garlic in a resealable bag. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least one hour or up to overnight in the fridge.

After Combine flour, tapioca flour, salt, sweet paprika, smoked paprika, granulated onion, pepper, cayenne pepper, 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic, and honey powder in a shallow bowl.

Then Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F

Finally, Drain and discard marinade from chicken thighs. Dredge chicken through flour mixture and shake off excess. Place chicken skin-side down in the preheated air fryer and cook for twelve minutes. Turn thighs and fry an additional thirteen minutes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ teaspoon hot sauce
  • ⅓ cup tapioca flour
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken thighs

Directions

—Step 1

First Combine buttermilk and hot sauce in a shallow dish; mix to combine.

—Step 2

After Combine tapioca flour, garlic salt, and 1/8 teaspoon black pepper in a resealable plastic bag then shake to combine.

—Step 3

Beat egg in a shallow bowl.

—Step 4

Then Mix flour, salt, brown sugar, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, oregano, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper in a gallon-sized resealable bag then shakes to combine.

After Dip chicken thighs into the prepared ingredients in the following order: buttermilk mixture, tapioca mixture, egg, then flour mixture, shaking off excess after each dipping.

Then Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F. Line the air fryer basket with parchment paper.

Finally, Place coated chicken thighs in batches into the air fryer basket and fry for 10 minutes. Turn chicken thighs and fry until chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear an additional 10 minutes.

3-Air Fryer Blackened Chicken Breast

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground thyme
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
  • 2 (12 ounces) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves

Directions

—Step 1

First Combine paprika, thyme, cumin, cayenne pepper, onion powder, black pepper, then salt together in a ball. Transfer spice mixture to a flat plate.

—Step 2

After Rub oil over each chicken breast until completely coated. Roll each piece of chicken in blackening spice mixture, making sure to press down so spice sticks on all sides. Let sit for five minutes while you preheat the air fryer.

then Preheat an air fryer to 360 degrees F for five minutes.

Finally, Place chicken in the basket of the air fryer and cook for ten minutes. Flip then cook an additional ten minutes. Transfer chicken to a plate and let rest for five minutes before serving.
